Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:Candidates who want apply for this post he/she must be first class in M.Sc/M.Tech/MS degree or any equivalent degree. Qualified branches Physics, Applied Physics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Chemistry, Ocean Sciences, Geophysics, Geology or any other area of Earth Sciences etc.
Or
Candidates from B.Tech/ B.Tech/ M.Tech/M.E./MS in Mechanical, Civil, chemical, Electrical or Electronics or any other Engineering discipline are eligible. If you are appearing for the final year then you are qualified but you must produces final year or graduate certificate at the time of interview.

Through CSIR-NET or IIT-GATE Examination
Candidates passed CSIR NET or GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test Engineering) in year 2011-2013. Candidates appearing GATE/CSIR-NET for this year (2012-2013), their result expected in first half of 2013.Age Limit:
No more than 28 years as on 30 April 2013.
Age Relaxation:
- 2 years for M.Tech
- 5 years for SC/ST
- 3 years for OBC
Interview:
Candidates called for interview based on merit list and ranking in NET/GATE. Shortlisted candidates list will display on website of IITM and MoES. Interviews held in May/June 2013at Pune.No. of positions: 30 (One Trainee batch)
Training Starts from first week of July 2013.
In training duration selected candidates will got the remuneration of 25000/- per month with anneal increment Rs. 1000/-
